So, Jess, you wanted to see some pictures of hair-do's for long faces and big noses. Well, when I read your comment, the first person I thought of was, Sarah Jessica Parker...long face, big nose.
So, instead of searching for a million different people, I decided to just post some pictures of SJParker, since she has done a lot of different hair-dos and pulls them off well.
But first, here are some professional tips I found...
If you have a long face, styles that are short to medium in length with longer top layers without height are best suited such as a wedge and graduated bob cuts.
Chin and shoulder length looks that turn under or kick out also work very well to add width.
Straight across bangs with side parts work best.
Layered styles in medium and long lengths that add body with wavy curly textures are great for softening the straight long lines of oblong face shapes.
Hairstyles that add height at the crown or on top will only lengthen your face.
Middle parts lengthen face.
The absence of bangs will lengthen your face.
wispy chin length styles that have no body or that don't add width through the sides should be avoided if you don't want to lengthen the look of your face shape.
This being said, here are some pictures of SJParker, and she has broken pretty much every rule here You might notice, the older she gets, the more rules she breaks. She usually follows at least one guideline while breaking others...which is probably a good rule.
Middle part, but it's a shoulder length that kicks out to add width.
Following the rules...bob, side part, and curly for width.

Broke a few rules...pulled straight back w/ no bangs, but she did keep the top flat, which makes it look better...I think.

Longer bangs, parted on side, but very long.

Middle part, but again, very flat on top.

Broke more rules, but followed some. She has long hair with a part down the middle, but wavy and layered well.

Middle part, straight, long...she really played up her eyes, which makes you keep coming back to her eyes though. Where if she would have worn dark lipstick, I feel like her face would look even longer.

Another older picture. She has side swept, kicked out bottom, and layered to add width.

Hope this helps!

oh dear...I don't think I have obeyed any of these rules! I always add height to my hair...its never been shorter than about 3 inches past my shoulders...I always part on the side...and I always have long bangs. I NEED HELP! So thank you for these! Now I just need to drum up enough courage to change my look a little bit...I have looked the same for about 15 years. It's time! :)
Thanks for taking the time to do a post for me...your the best :)
Jess, I think you always look SO nice! Plus parting your hair on the side is good for a longer face. I think you look so nice and wouldn't change a thing! :) I am being perfectly serious!!! I have never thought of you having a long face either...or a big nose for that matter!!! haha My goodness! I am going to get myself in trouble with my blog.
